Careers and Employability

Going forward

I am about to visit New York City and will endeavour to speak to art curators of galleries there about my art

I am also about to visit Buffalo which houses the famous Albright Knox Museum of Art and will do the same there.

I have been alerted to a regular art festival that occurs annually in Goa in December. It is called Serendipity. I will aim to get in pieces of art for this festival.

I expect that the Trinity Buoy WharfDrawing Prize exhibition will provide me with some exposure and I will follow leads provided to me via this route.

 Careers and Employability

Being on the old age end of the age spectrum, I am aware that I am in a position of privilege. I have completed one career i.e. as a psychologist and have pensions (though very meagre) coming in. I also have a means of supporting myself financially by working 2 days per week as a psychologist. I therefore have a ‘room of my own’ (Woolfe, 1929), which means I have space, both literal and figurative, in which to be creative. For this I am grateful. There are many advantages to launching an art career at my age.

I hope to maintain my relationships with the painting courses at UAL and am available for teaching if called upon.
